Commercial Vehicle Management Software
At most commercial service airports, controlling the high volume of ground transportation and passenger vehicles that enter and exit airport facilities is one of today's most significant challenges. With continued air travel growth, vehicle congestion around passenger terminals is increasing, making the allocation and management of limited curbside space, parking areas, and roadways a continual juggling act.
By combining existing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology with specialized software, airports have seen meaningful improvements in their commercial vehicle operations.
The CVMS developed and installed by GateKeeper Systems is a powerful tool that will significantly affect your airport's ability to:
Make efficient use of limited curbside space and control the movement of commercial vehicles at your airport
Create new sources of revenues with fees that are tied to the use of your facilities
Improve customer service levels for your ground transportation services
On July 1, 2005 GateKeeper Systems released version 3.0 of its CVMS. This new version includes a substantial number of new features and several major improvements to our software’s existing features, all aimed at helping airport clients maximize the use of their GateKeeper CVMS to manage their ground transportation activities.
New Features and Functions in v3.0
Lane Controller: This new smart, small-footprint embedded device provides connected or frequently disconnected lane-level access control decision making using an embedded tag database and the ability to buffer weeks of tag transactions. Additionally, a number of manufacturers proximity and magnetic stripe cards and readers are supported.
Deposit Tracking: Automatically generates tag deposit charges and tracks the deposit for the life of the customer relationship including the ability to automatically or manually issue refunds.
Tag Inventory: Creates a positive tracking system for your tag inventory to reduce lost tags and eliminate losses.
Bulk Load: Imports volumes of tags into inventory accounts quickly and easily. Eliminates the time consuming manual entry of tags.
Hot List: Provides automatic notification of account, vehicle, or tag usage.
Form Letters: Uses a new link between the report module in the CVMS and Microsoft Word to create form letters for your customers.
System Event Display: Real-time monitoring and notification of system events and status information.
Improved Features and Functions
Change Log: Improved tracking and reporting of all data changes made to the database system by users. Provides the ability to audit user activity and creates an audit trail of activity on an account and/or vehicle.
Security: A more flexible and comprehensive security system.
Reports: A number of new reports have been added to the standard report package.
Windows 2003: The CVMS is now compatible with Windows 2003, in addition to Windows 2000, on the server. Supported client operating systems include Windows NT, Windows 2000 Professional, and Windows XP Professional.
